Chose Hope Women’s Center – Feature Friday

Written By Morgan Knox

Choose Hope Women’s Center is here to educate women who may be looking for guidance and let them know that they are not alone. They open their doors to women and children in need. I was able to take a tour of the Bel Air location and learn more about how the community can help support this local non-profit and a little bit more about what they do for the community.

Formerly known as Birthright, the non-profit took on a new name in August of this year. I sat down with Stephanie, the executive director of Choose Hope’s Women’s Center and had a truly insightful conversation. “Our job is to listen to these women in need, educate them, and just to be present and provide them with support,” stated Stephanie.

Everything done through Choose Hope is confidential. They are always open to receiving donations to help mothers, babies, and families with every day needs. The message to women is that no matter how difficult your situation is, there is hope. There are so many choices for women and it’s important to be educated and equipped with all of the information. Choose Hope is putting women empowerment front and center.

Anyone who comes to the door is always help, they stated. Whether its diapers and formula that new mothers cannot afford, or it’s a young woman who is in need of support, Choose Hope is always there…and GROWING!

Not only do they have a Bel Air location, but they have put roots down in Edgewood as well. Although they are in a temporary space, they will be in their permanent location in March of 2023. Partnering with the Epicenter and Tabitha’s house this will be about location to help distribute resources to the community in need.

They are always accepting donations and you can always apply to be a volunteer. Reach out today to read more about how you can get involved and make a difference in someone’s life.
