We have all heard of The Humane Society, but have you heard of The Hero Rescue? Opening in October of 2019, they main goal is to save as many dogs as they can. I sat down with Kelly Rose, one of the seven women who started the rescue to talk more about the mission behind starting the nonprofit.

At the end of last year, The Hero Rescue saved 307 dogs. For every ten puppies that they save, they try to make sure that they are covering one older dog medically. When I asked how the name came about, the answer was just what you want to hear, “we want to be every dog’s hero.”

These women have started an amazing rescue and continue to work hard to save dogs from all over the world. Recently, they have transported dogs from the Virgin Islands and from harsh living conditions in Louisiana. The community of fosters is always looking for new members and they encourage foster fails! They want to make sure that these dogs are given the best conditions to live in with a family that will love them unconditionally. “There is a person for every dog,” Kelly stated. They hope to save 500 dogs by the end of this year.

One awesome opportunity that The Hero Rescue has is too foster. They partner with The Humane Society to pull dogs and allow them to live in a loving home setting. They hope to continue to grow their foster community as well as find dogs their forever home! Be sure to like them on Facebook and follow them on social media. If you can donate in any way, it would go a long way in saving dogs worldwide!
