Spring Fête Fashion Show at Hotel Zena

Written By Morgan Knox

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a very empowering and magical event that took me out of Harford County and into Washington D.C.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and this event was to showcase these two cultures through a Spring Fashion Show. From clothes to jewelry, to food and accessories, there was something at this event for everyone.

There were so many things to love about this event but the one thing that truly stood out to me was the amount of women supporting women. Hotel Zena, the location of the event is a themed hotel that is all about women empowerment. From the high heel front desk, to the works of art that bless the lobby, women are being honored.

Yas Media, the event coordinator had a vision in mind and executed it beautifully. Upon arrival, guest could engage with designers and business owners in a pop-up shop in the lobby before taking their seats at the fashion show. Interacting with all of the amazingly talented designers was an experience that I will never forget. I was able to learn more about the pieces they have created and how it relates to their culture.

The fashion show was flawless. The clothes, the music, and the pure happiness that encompassed that room was like no other feeling. If you get a chance to support or just check out these talented business owners and designers, click on their links below.
