Homegrown Talent, National Stage: Fallston Lacrosse Club Makes History with Dual National Championship Berths

Written By Morgan Knox

FALLSTON, MD — If you drove through Fallston on Thursday night, you likely heard the cheers before you saw the crowd. The community gathered for a high-energy “Pep Rally” send-off to celebrate a historic milestone for the Fallston Lacrosse Club (FLC). For the first time in the program’s history, not one, but two FLC teams are heading to the National Girls Lacrosse League (NGLL) National Championships.

The FLC 2031 and FLC 2032 teams are heading to the prestigious tournament this weekend, ready to represent Harford County against the top clubs from across the United States and Canada.

The “Little League World Series” of Girls Lacrosse

The NGLL National Championship is often referred to as the “Little League World Series” of the sport. Much like the famous baseball event in Williamsport, the NGLL tournament is designed to be the ultimate culminating event for youth players. It offers national bragging rights across five age divisions, providing a high-stakes, prestigious atmosphere where the best of the best compete for a title.

Small Town Feel, Big Time Talent

Fallston has long been recognized as a hotbed for lacrosse talent in Maryland, but the decision to build a local club under the Fallston Rec umbrella was born from a simple observation: the talent was already here. By focusing on the athletes within their own zip codes, the club has fostered a “small town feel” that prioritizes community and chemistry without sacrificing elite-level performance.

That strategy is clearly paying off. In a region dominated by “big name” year-round club programs, this local, community-based club is proving that homegrown talent can compete with anyone. Seeing two FLC teams qualify for the National Championships in the same year is a testament to the depth of the program and the dedication of the local coaches and families.

As the 2031s and 2032s prepare to take the field this weekend, they carry with them the pride of a town that has always lived and breathed lacrosse.

Good luck to our FLC sisters—bring home the hardware!
