Cookies by Kathryn – Feature Friday

Written By Morgan Knox

Got milk, need cookies? We got a chance to catch up with Kathryn, owner and operator of Cookies By Kathryn—an online decorative cookie bakery. Kathryn also offers local cookie decorating classes at Bel Air’s AleCraft Brewery.

When asked how she got into her business, Kathryn mentioned she’s always had a love for baking. A friend asked her to do cookies for a bridal shower, followed by a Halloween party, and it grew from there. She’s now done cookies for weddings, birthdays, baptisms, baby showers, photography photo shoots, and each holiday!

Her favorite cookie design was her realistic chicken cookies, which involved new techniques making it more challenging and fun. Other unique designs she’s done include donuts, mermaids, sunflowers, pencils, mason jars, and many more. In an effort to show appreciation to the community, she made over 200 cookies for first responders during the pandemic.

Over the next few years Kathryn sees herself continuing her cookie decorating parties, decorating for custom events, and having special treats for the holidays. She plans to expand her menu with additional options such as s’mores, chocolate chip toffee, and brownies!

Visit her website at cookiesbykathryn.square.site, her Instagram @cookiesbykathryn_, or her Facebook page @CookiesbyKathryn for more information and photos of her special treats.
