On a crisp Saturday morning in downtown Havre de Grace, patrons lined up along the sidewalk of JoRetro—Jolene Forrester’s shop of vintage, retro, and handmade products. Patiently awaiting their entry for the 20% off storewide sale, customers would soon be welcomed inside to customized cookies from Salted and Baked, a nearby cottage food bakery specializing in decorative cookies. Outside of the shop and along the cozy streets of Pennington and North Washington held the rest of the Pyrex and Vintage Fest, with over 50 vendors set up along the closed roads. Some vendors included:
•Mid-Atlantic Modern (Instagram: @Midatlanticmodern)
•June Bugs Junk
•Chesapeake Antiques
•Schlegel Bagel Design https://www.etsy.com/shop/SchlegelBagelDesign
•HDG Alliance, INC. https://www.facebook.com/HDGAlliance
•Little Ghost Co., Richmond VA
•Olive Pit
•Milk Machine Vintage https://www.facebook.com/MilkMachineVintage/
•KB’s Cookie Cafe’ https://www.facebook.com/KBsCookieCafe/
•Cottage Chicks https://www.facebook.com/cottagechickannapolis/
A cloudy morning gave way to an afternoon of beautiful weather, with refreshments available and Mad Mac’s food truck conveniently parked at the end of the street for attendees. At the top of the road stood artists with easels and brushes working away at the landscape in view, a perfect water-view through the surrounding historic buildings. Jolene put together a fantastic festival as she does every year. After 2020’s Pyrex and Vintage Fest was sadly cancelled due to Covid, 2021 couldn’t have been a better welcome back. VIDEO COMING SOON!
