  • Bel Air’s Erin Nett will compete for a shot at the Olympic Trials in Pole Vaulting. She has cleared 13′ 1/2″…the ’96 Gold medalist cleared 15’4″.
  • C. Milton Wright grad Megan Hube was named Gatorade and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Maryland Softball Player of the Year. Megan received a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma.
  • Scott Coon of Bel Air was leading the field of 309 competitors in the Lake Lenape Triathlon in New Jersey, by more than a minute, when it was discovered that he had missed a turn. Making the correction cost him seven minutes. Coon was the 1999 record setting event champion.
  • Fallston’s Shane Kelsey set the record for the backstroke on behalf of BAAC swimming, beating future World Champion (2017) Chase Kalisz.
  • Shawn Loper won the Our Daily Bread 5k with a time of 16:48. The 2nd place finisher in the field of 200 was Robert Kauzlarich with a time of 19:10. Loper was a wrestling, track, and cross country star at Bel Air High School.
