C. Milton Wright grad Megan Hube was named Gatorade and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Maryland Softball Player of the Year. Megan received a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma.

Scott Coon of Bel Air was leading the field of 309 competitors in the Lake Lenape Triathlon in New Jersey, by more than a minute, when it was discovered that he had missed a turn. Making the correction cost him seven minutes. Coon was the 1999 record setting event champion.

Fallston’s Shane Kelsey set the record for the backstroke on behalf of BAAC swimming, beating future World Champion (2017) Chase Kalisz.

Shawn Loper won the Our Daily Bread 5k with a time of 16:48. The 2nd place finisher in the field of 200 was Robert Kauzlarich with a time of 19:10. Loper was a wrestling, track, and cross country star at Bel Air High School.
