- Forest Hill Elementary School teacher, Pete Anderson attempted to break the World Free Throw Accuracy record of 12,000 shots made in 24 hours. The record was set by Ted St Martin of Jacksonville, Fla in 1972.

- The Colts all pro safety Rick Volk and Oriole all star pitcher Jim Palmer appeared at Bel Air Datsun to sign autographs. An estimated 700-1000 attended the 2 hour long event.
