WJZ decided to broadcast the NC State vs SC State football game. There was a lot of local interest in the game, as three local players started for South Carolina. Bel Air’s Jeff Grantz and Tommy Amrein along with Kingsville’s Russ Manzari.

NH’s Field Hockey team broke Bel Air’s 4 year championship run. Coach Fran Norman said “she couldn’t be any more proud of a group of young ladies.”

In Cross Country running, Mark Rosasco set a new course record to lead John Carroll past Northwest.

Edgewood’s Dudley Bradley, a freshman at the University of North Carolina, led all scorers as UNC beat the Russian National Team 82-78.
