Aberdeen’s Irv Pankey beat North Harford’s Paul Glamp 4-2 to become the third Harford Co heavyweight wrestler in three years to become state champion, following BA’s Billy Owens, NH’s Paul Glamp (champion as a Jr) and Irv Pankey.

The Warriors basketball team of the BA Rec’s 11-12yr old Boy’s Basketball division beat the Celtics 42-26 to win the league championship. The Warriors were lead by Pat Fisher and Bill Russo, who each had 16 points.

HCC’s Josef Simmeth, an Army Veteran who attended Loyola Blakefield after a year at Bel Air HS, holds four HCC swimming records and competed in the 100m and 200m backstroke at the Region XX Championships. Simmeth is the first HCC swimmer ever to compete at this event.

Patricia Dewey from Norrisville and Scott McCracken of Fountain Green won the Md State Dribble and Shoot Championships at the Capitol Arena.
