  • Liz Panos of Bel Air is named Aegis Athlete of the Year due to her outstanding performances in Field Hockey, Basketball, Softball and Flag Football. Panos is the first female ever to be named Harford Athlete of the Year.
  • Al Neville was named Baltimore Eagles Player of the Year.  The Eagles, Interstate Football League finalists, were led by Neville at QB and his high school team mate from John Carroll, Danny Bungori.
  • Joppatowne Boy’s Basketball earned their 1st ever win by beating Perryville 52-41. Chuck Perry and Horace Shelly both scored 14 for the Mariners.
  • Bel Air Sporting Goods owner Bernie Ulman was the head official for Super Bowl IX between Minnesota and Pittsburgh.
  • The Department of Natural Resources announced that 101 deer were lawfully ‘harvested’ in 1974.
