- CMW’s Cara Wettlaufer came from behind to beat the defending state 1600 meter champion and state record holder Tenke Zoltani of Dulaney. With the two ladies tied and 100 meters left, Wettlaufer found “another gear” to win by .42 seconds.
- Fallston Men’s lacrosse won their 3rd state title by beating South River 11-10 in overtime. Fallston midfielder Bryan Bradford won 4 of 6 faceoffs and scored 4 goals.
- The 2001 Al Cesky Scholarship was won by Al Cesky’s grandson, Mike Cesky of Bel Air High School. Fallston’s Katelyn Greenwood won the girl’s scholarship.
- 77-year-old Charles Wilson earned four gold medals at the North Chesapeake Sr Olympics. Two were in sprints and 2 in jumping events. Wilson had been running and jumping since 1938 when he entered Bel Air High School.
- C. Milton Wright’s Track program(s) easily beat the rest of the county (incl John Carroll). The combined boy’s and girl’s teams earned 311 points while the 2nd placers combined to roll up 200.
