- Geneva Farms saw three holes-in-one in a single week. To kick things off, Tom Bailey aced the 130-yard ninth hole with a 6-iron. On Wednesday, Nelson White used a 7-iron to record a hole-in-one on the 147-yard 17th hole. Then on Friday, Brian Worthington completed the trifecta by acing the 147-yard seventh hole with a 6-iron.
- Harford Track Club runners won five events at the 88th Annual Baltimore Municipal Games. Despite a heat index of more than 100 degrees, Kelly Buck captured the girls’ 3,000-meter and 800-meter titles. On the boys’ side, Travis Bates won the 800 meters, Bradley Dunn claimed the 1,600-meter race, and Kevin Rate, competing in his first race ever, won the 3,000 meters. The meet was held at Archbishop Curley High School.
- J. Tobin, 55, of Fallston won the Tupper Lake Triathlon in Tupper Lake, New York, with a time of 4 hours, 54 minutes. Trailing defending champion Bob Williams after both the swimming and cycling portions of the race, Tobin caught him during the run and pulled away to win by more than eight minutes.
- The Bel Air Skate Club captured the Southeastern Regional Roller Skating Championships, held in Greensboro, and earned a trip to the National Championships in Pensacola, Florida. The club was led by Dee Cooke, Renee Kitko, and Walt Graham.
- Harford Hurricane swimmers Ashley Husich, Maureen McLaughlin, and Claire Waller qualified for the YMCA Swimming National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They joined more than 1,500 swimmers from across the country for the four-day event.
