  • Havre De Grace’s lady Warriors won their first game in two years on the strength of Carol Poughkeepsie’s three goals. HdG beat beat Harford Tech 13-3.
  • In lacrosse action, Churchville’s Randall Worthington scored six goals to push West Nottingham Academy past Havre De Grace 10-0; Bel Air’s Justin Counts earned the shut in the goal for WNA.
  • The Harford Hurricane Swim Club qualified five girls for the US National Championships. Debra Scott, Maureen McLaughlin, Betsy Balaguer, Claire Walker and Lauren Betzing competed in different events at the National event held at The Swimming Hall of Fame in Ft Lauderdale.
  • Harford Christian’s Cheerleading Team won the Maryland State Cheerleading Championships and placed 3rd at the Christian School Nationals in Dayton, Tenn.
  • John Carroll’s Becky Strobel won the Penn Relay’s Distance Classic. Despite agonizing shin splints, Strobel ran the 20 kilometer road race thru the heart of Philadelphia to finish at the University of Pennsylvania campus in 70 minutes exactly.
