John Carroll finished the season 12-0 and won the private school championships by virtue of a 35-14 win over Archbishop Curley. Kurt Rawlings had 109 yards rushing on only 5 carries, and 16 for 26 with 189 yards passing.

On the strength of Anna Farley’s 2 goals, Bel Air beat Westminster to win the 3A Field Hockey State Championship. BA hadn’t won states since 1977.

Fallston’s girls win the 2A state championship. Junior Alyson Lose scored the winning goal with 1:32 left in the game to beat Wilde Lake 1-0.

Bel Air’s ladles won their first state soccer title. Scoreless after 100 minutes, Carolyn Doheny, Jamie Layfield and Gabby Encarnacion buried their penalty kicks, while Andrea Sipos stopped all but one goal to beat Linganore, 3-1.

For the 2nd straight year, John Carroll wins the private school championships, 1-0 over Maryvale Prep. JC ran off 13 wins in a row to finish the season; Head Coach Gary Scholl announced that his 3 year stint as ‘interim head coach’ had officially ended.
