- North Harford junior Andrew Preston was named a high school lacrosse All-American. It marked the second time Preston earned All-American honors, making him the first Harford County lacrosse player to receive the distinction twice. Preston went on to play collegiate lacrosse at Mount St. Mary’s University.
- HCC’s Tyler Muse followed up his victory at the Bel Air Town Run with an easy win at the Charm City Classic. Muse finished seven seconds ahead of Baltimore’s Graham Peck. Muse went on to star for the University of Wilmington’s track and cross country teams and was ranked fourth nationally in the 3,200 meters among NCAA Division II and Division III runners.
- Adding to its state championship season, Bel Air High School announced that head baseball coach John Swanson had been named Maryland Baseball Coach of the Year. Bel Air capped its championship season with an 8–1 victory over Montgomery County’s Quince Orchard. Swanson became just the third Harford County coach to earn Maryland Coach of the Year honors. John Carroll’s Keith Watson was named Maryland Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2015, while John Carroll’s Tony Martin earned Maryland Basketball Coach of the Year honors in 2011.
- For the first time, Harford County sent two teams to the Cal Ripken World Series. The Hickory Hornets and Bel Air Braves joined 14 other teams from east of the Mississippi River in the season-ending championship tournament. It also marked the first time Maryland was represented by two teams in the event.
- Rocky Ramsland of the Aberdeen Swim Club completed four “near-perfect” dives to set scoring records in the 11–12-year-old division at the Central Maryland Diving Championships. In the event’s 40-year history, no diver had ever received scores higher than 9.9. Ramsland went on to compete for Virginia Tech and qualified for the NCAA Diving Championships.
